Leadership Opportunity: A New Chapter at Shining Mountains Montessori School
As we look ahead to the opening of the Carbonate Street Early Childhood Center in Fall 2027, Shining Mountains Montessori School is growing into a two-campus school community! To support this exciting next chapter, we are evolving our leadership structure to include strong leadership at both campuses and an Executive Director who will oversee the school as a whole.
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our leadership team as our new Part-time Executive Director. This role will help guide SMMS through its continued growth while supporting our mission, staff, families, and the development of our two-campus community.

SMMS Substitute Teacher Description
The SMMS Substitute Teacher is hired by and accountable to the SMMS Co-School Directors. The position is part-time and on site.

We provide safe, nurturing, peaceful, and exploratory environments for children’s developmental needs and successes. Montessori, place-based, and outdoor approaches to learning connect our micro-community school setting with the wonders of their home, the Arkansas River Valley.
Required Experience
1+ years of substitute teaching experience
Background check required
Primary Responsibilities
Assisting lead teacher in preparing the learning environment for developmental level being served in accordance with the Montessori educational method.
Assisting lead teacher in establishing rules and behavioral expectations.
Reinforcing and modeling classroom rules and expectations.
Supervising children in the classroom and play yard.
Maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment for the children in your care.
Observing and responding to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts that may occur while they are at the school.
Following the school's policies and professional practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or lead teacher.
Compensation
This is a part-time position. Hourly pay range is $18-20 per hour on an as needed basis with a minimum four-hour shift each time. No benefits are offered for this position.
