Ashley has been a real estate attorney for about a decade and has served on several boards over the years. Previously, she was the executive director of the Chaffee Housing Authority and had an 11-year career as a teacher and school administrator before practicing law.

A Notre Dame alum, Gwen led a successful career as a television producer before moving to Buena Vista to start a family and a new life as an entrepreneur. She now runs her own massage therapy studio and a thriving hospitality business built from scratch with her husband, with whom she is raising their two young children. She is passionate about Montessori education and thrilled to be helping forge SMMS’ path forward. 

Patrick Merrezuko joined the Board in the spring of 2025. Father of both a former and current friend at Shining Mountains, Patrick is always eager to volunteer at the school, whether by filling in as a substitute guide, shoveling mulch in the playground, reading at circle time, or serving as the Board's Treasurer. He and his wife own a Campground Resort just west of town, where he enjoys cooking outside and playing in Cottonwood Creek with his kids.

Cody is a recruiter in the tech industry and has a son at SMMS. She and her family, and their two huskies, have lived in the valley for three years where they are lucky to embrace the incredible lifestyle BV has to offer. They all feel fortunate to be a part of the growing, vibrant community at SMMS.

Lynn taught special education for 10 years before she and her husband bought a conference where her role was to manage the 80+ speakers for the annual event. Lynn is also a mother of two sons and is retired. Healthy families and healthy children are important to Lynn and serving on the board of Shining Mountains Montessori will offer an opportunity to participate with and contribute to our growing community and the young families of BV.

Loretta retired to Buena Vista following a career in public service and the private sector in the Human Services area. She held supervisory roles and ended her career as a Human Resources Specialist. She also sat on the board for a day care program that her two sons attended many years ago.

Becky is an entrepreneur and the owner of Heart Baker, a micro-bakery in Buena Vista. She also owns a health coaching practice and supports her clients through integrative wellness. As new mom, she loves strapping on her baby and enjoying our wonderful nature, hiking with her dogs, and supporting local businesses at the farmers market and around Buena Vista. She’s excited to support the SMMS mission and be part of a community that nurtures curiosity, independence, and connection.
